CNC Machinist

Position: CNC Machinist

Location: Sterling, VA

Shift: 1st shift

 

Job Overview of the CNC Machinist position:

Responsible for set-up and operation of CNC machines in compliance with inch and metric drawing specifications. Possess the ability operating and performing set ups on both vertical and horizontal milling machines. Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of all measuring tools and devices used in inspection of all components.

 

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Performs set ups on both Vertical and Horizontal CNC Milling Machines (3 & 4 axis).
  • Experience with Haas, Mazak and Fanuc controls.
  • Understanding of manual programming (G codes/M codes).
  • Familiar with the operation of DNC systems.
  • Machines and/or fabricating precision tools and fixturing to tight tolerances and complex geometries based on specifications.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design and dimensioning principles which includes reading blueprints and geometric tolerances comprehension.
  • Demonstrates a high level of knowledge in programming and overall machine operation.
  • Understands material properties (rates of expansion, strength, hardness) and special machining requirements.
  • Measures, inspects and troubleshoots dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Completes routine and priority tasks defined by management to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Performs periodic machine maintenance such as but not limited to dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

Qualifications for the CNC Machinist position:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position preferred plus training in CNC Programming
  • Experience operating Vertical and Horizontal CNC Milling Machines (3 & 4 axis)
  • Experience with Haas, Mazak and Fanuc controls.
  • Understanding of manual programming (G codes/M codes).
  • Familiar with the operation of DNC systems.
  • CNC Trade School experience and/or CNC Certification desired.

Salary: $25.00 – $31.00 per hour

Position: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Shift: 1st shift (7:00am – 3:30pm)

 

Job description

Work among of team of individuals assembling products for our customers. As part of our LEAN Manufacturing business strategy, the position is located in a work “cell” assembling a variety of components ranging in complexity throughout the day. Works under general supervision.

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to understand written work instructions and schematics for a wide range of products to properly assemble the final product to the highest of quality standards and with zero scrap or rework.
  • Assemble components and products of varying size and complexity that includes cleaning, inspecting and testing of assembled components and assemblies.
  • Meets the expected assembly timelines that are outlined on the production orders
  • Ask questions when instructions are not understood or clear
  • Cross-train on various functions in order to provide flexibility and support across production operations.
  • Where necessary, set up or calibrate equipment, maintain accurate records, prepare reports for identification purposes such as test reports, and move material to and from work areas.
  • Must maintain a safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, policies and regulations.

Physical Activities:

The employees must grasp, manipulate, or assemble parts and components that are often very small. As a result, they should have a steady hand and good hand-eye coordination. Work may be sedentary, could stand or sit for long durations and/or perform repetitious work at times. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally. Employees may come in contact with but not limited to acetone and epoxy, and their work cell areas may be noisy at times.

Qualifications

Experience:

· Experience with soldering capability in a similar position preferred.

Salary: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour
