Responsible for installing heating cables in doors and frames, trim, install gasket, cover plates, sealing strips and plates, align component parts in jig or straighten and square parts, using measuring instruments and straightedge. Skin out doors and frames already built. Smooth edges to obtain specified fit using file or grinder. Trace reference line to layout points for screw and rivet holes using rule and scribe or template. Drill or punch or use drill-press or portable power drill. Assemble component parts to form completed unit using various hand tools and portable power tools.
Must be able to read blueprints, shop orders and wiring diagrams. Good mathematical skills and knowledge of metals to allow for breaking.
Required to lift, turn or reposition doors. Weight ranging from 50 – 100 pounds.
